Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser's local storage) the Golf Breaks Italy website uses, why, and how you can control them. It follows the Italian Data Protection Authority's guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools of 10 June 2021 and Article 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code. The website is operated by Hurray! Italia, Via Alfredo Fusco 35, 00136 Rome, Italy (info@golfbreaksitaly.com). More about how we handle personal data is in our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar browser features that let a website save small pieces of information on your device. The same rules apply to all of them: technical ones that are needed to run the website or to provide something you asked for can be used without consent; all others need your prior consent.
2. What we use now
At present we use only technical tools and one external font service (see 2.3). We do not use analytics, advertising, social media or other tracking tools, and we do not share browsing data with advertisers.
2.1 Stored by our website in your browser
- Language preference (local storage, name gbi-lang): remembers the language you chose, so the site opens in that language next time. It stays until you clear your browser data or choose another language. It is not sent to us.
- Introduction shown (session storage, name gbi-intro): remembers that you have already seen the opening animation during this visit. It is deleted when you close the browser tab.
- Your cookie choices (local storage, name gbi-consent): records what you chose in the cookie banner and when, so we respect your choice and do not ask again on every page. It stays until you change your choice or clear your browser data.
- Form access (local storage, name gbi-wix-token): an anonymous access token that lets the website send your request, newsletter sign-up, Club sign-up or review to our systems. It is created the first time you send a form and contains no personal details. It stays until you clear your browser data.
- Welcome pop-up (local storage gbi-pop and session storage gbi-pop-seen): remembers that you have seen or used the Golf Breaks Club welcome pop-up, so that it is not shown again. The session entry is deleted when you close the browser tab; the local entry stays until you clear your browser data.
- Golf Breaks Club account (local storage, names gbi-member, gbi-member-info, gbi-wix-member and gbi-club-row): remember that you joined or logged in, with your first name, email address, points and Club level, so the site can show your account and greet you. They are created when you join or log in and removed when you log out or clear your browser data.
- Sign-up and log-in steps (session storage gbi-auth, gbi-auth-state and gbi-auth-busy; local storage gbi-pending-profile): temporary items that carry you through registration and log-in, for example the details you entered while your account is being created. They are deleted when the process is complete or, for session storage, when you close the browser tab.
2.2 Set by our hosting provider
Our website runs on the Wix platform (Wix.com Ltd.). Wix sets technical cookies that are needed for security, fraud and attack prevention, stability and performance of the site, for example XSRF-TOKEN, hs, svSession, bSession, SSR-caching, TS*, server-session-bind, client-session-bind, fedops.logger.sessionId and _wixAB3|*. Most of them last only for your visit; some last up to 24 hours, 6 months or 12 months. The current list and durations are published by Wix at support.wix.com.
2.3 Fonts
The body text of our website uses a font stored on our own hosting. Our headings use the Montserrat font, which your browser loads from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). With each request Google receives your IP address and basic browser details. We do not use the font service for tracking or advertising.
3. Tools we may add in the future — only with your consent
If we later add any of the tools below, they will stay switched off until you allow them in the cookie banner or in "Cookie settings". We will update this policy first and list each tool, its provider, purpose and duration.
- Analytics: help us understand how many people visit the site and which pages are useful, so we can improve it.
- Marketing: let us or our partners measure our advertising campaigns or show you relevant offers on other websites and social networks.
Refusing these tools does not limit your use of the website, our request form or our newsletter.
4. Your choices
When the website uses tools that need consent, a banner will appear on your first visit. You can:
- accept all of them;
- reject all of them with a button just as visible as the accept button;
- choose category by category under "Customise";
- close the banner with the "X". This keeps the default settings: only technical tools are used.
Scrolling the page or clicking elsewhere is never treated as consent. If you reject or close the banner, we will not ask again for at least 6 months, unless our use of cookies changes significantly or your stored choice has been deleted.
Changing your mind: click "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page at any time to see your current choices and change or withdraw your consent. Withdrawal applies from then on.
5. Browser controls
You can also delete cookies and local storage, or block them, in your browser settings. Help pages for the most common browsers:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari
- Microsoft Edge
If you block all technical cookies, parts of the website may not work correctly. If you clear your browser data, your language and cookie choices are deleted too, and the banner may appear again.
6. Contact and changes
Questions about this policy: info@golfbreaksitaly.com. Your rights, including the right to complain to the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, are explained in our Privacy Policy. We will update this policy whenever we change the tools we use; the date at the top shows the latest version.
